Kroondal is a shallow underground PGM mining and concentrators located on the Western Limb of the Bushveld complex, 12 km east of the town of Rustenburg in the North West Province of South Africa, and 120 km north-west of Johannesburg. This underground PGM mine has two concentrators.

DRA Global built both concentrators and has operated and maintained it since the commissioning in 1999. DRA Global was also responsible for the plant upgrade in 2001.

DRA Global was the overall EPCM contractor responsible for R200+ million expenditure, entailing the company's involvement in every aspect of the mine's construction. The upgrade involved the installation of a regrind mill, a secondary flotation section and improvements to the DMS plant.

Kroondal was the first fully integrated platinum plant to operate a dense medium separation plant ahead of the milling circuit to remove waste rock.
