The Coobina Fines Project, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, was successfully delivered by DRA as a turnkey project involving the engineering design, equipment procurement, SMPP fabrication, logistical delivery to site, SMPP and E&I construction and commissioning of the 0.4 Mtpa chromite processing plant and ancillary infrastructure.
Site clearing started in mid-2008, with product first stockpiled 12 months thereafter in mid-2009.
The 60 tph fines plant was built to complement the existing DMS drum plant which also employed Dense Media Separation (DMS) and spirals technologies.
