Now, he has another achievement to add to his list. Pierre has been appointed the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) President for 2021 -2022.

Speaking to CIM, Pierre said “The Canadian mining industry has provided me with opportunities I could not have dreamed of as a 17-year-old entering the Haileybury School of Mines. I’m extremely honoured to have the opportunity to serve CIM in its ongoing efforts to support our world-class and life-changing industry.”

Former CIM President (2018-2019), Janice Zink said CIM were fortunate to have someone with Pierre’s strong technical background and leadership experience be their President.

“Pierre will play a key role in CIM’s continued transformation to a stronger, more united and relevant organization.”

Prior to his appointment as President, Pierre was a former CIM Council member and was awarded the CIM Fellowship award in 2017.

DRA congratulates Pierre on his fantastic achievement and wishes him the best of luck as CIM President.
