In April, the team of 199 employees were awarded The Chairman’s Award for Best Performing Business Partner across the Vedanta Group.

Vedanta Resources Limited is a globally diversified natural resources company that extracts and processes minerals, oils and gas primarily in India, Africa, Ireland and Australia.

Minopex has been the operations contractor at Vedanta Group’s Gamsberg Mine in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa since 2018.

It’s not just all about project delivery for the team – there is a vision to leave a sustainable legacy behind through socioeconomic development in the region. Improving the livelihood of the people in nearby communities and empowering them for the future.

Some of the awesome initiatives rolled out by the team include:

• Minopex/ Northern Cape Metallurgical Operations (NCMO) Food Parcel Distribution Campaign. In February 2021, Minopex and NCMO embarked on a food parcel distribution campaign for four local communities in the Khai’Ma Municipality Area. 114 food parcels weighing more than 4.5 tons were collected by NCMO for distribution and were well received among the beneficiaries.
• Spearheading International Women’s Day Celebrations. Minopex/NCMO celebrated International Women’s Day at Gamsberg Mine with the Choose-to-Challenge initiative. As part of the initiative pledge stations were setup in front of the main offices at the mine premises. Employees rose to the challenge by taking the pledge, signing their names and placing their handprints on the banner – making their voice heard.
