G&S Engineering Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of DRA Global (“DRA”), has been awarded the construction contract by FLSmidth to provide site erection services and commissioning assistance for the installation of three rail mounted yard machines at Rio Tinto’s new Gudai-Darri Mine in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
Gudai-Darri is Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s new mine and dry processing plant, set to be their most technologically advanced. The project will require close coordination with not only FLSmidth, but also Rio Tinto as well as other contractors working on site.
Greg McRostie, DRA’s Executive Vice President APAC, said, “The Group is delighted to assist FLSmidth with this construction contract. The contract is an exciting opportunity and reinforces DRA’s capabilities for rail mounted yard machines, for both erection and ongoing maintenance.”
A team peaking at 75 will deliver the project, which commenced in March 2021 and is projected for completion in Q4 2021.
