Giprotsvetmet and DRA Projects Pty Ltd, a division of DRA Global (“DRA”), agree to establish a joint venture engineering company.
JSC “Giprotsvetmet” (part of the holding “RT-Business Development” of the Russian State Corporation Rostec) and engineering company DRA Projects (regionally headquartered in South Africa) have entered into an agreement to create a joint venture to tap into the growing opportunities in Russia and the CIS countries. The agreement was signed on 24 October 2019 in Sochi, within the Russia-Africa Economic Forum.
The joint venture company will provide a full range of engineering services to the mining industry in Russia and the CIS countries by using best international standards and practices to develop project concepts, feasibility studies, mining and mineral processing audits and consulting as well as the development of EPC/M services.
“The signed agreement will allow Giprotsvetmet, together with DRA, to offer complex services to mining companies in Russia and the CIS countries. We aim to provide the best international expertise, with due consideration for local legislation and regulatory requirements. This collaboration is also aimed to develop the EPC/M services for the mining projects in Russia” – said Mikhail Ulyanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Giprotsvetmet.
The collective expertise of Giprotsvetmet and DRA will primarily service large mining and production projects scheduled for implementation in Russia in the coming years within the in gold, platinum metals group, copper, nickel and associated sectors.
